I have two very conflicting problems: a) I don’t like being fat and b) I don’t typically like exercise. Logic dictates that only one of these two can be satisfied at the cost of the other. I decided to opt for not being fat and rather getting some exercise happening, but if I was going to be exercising, it would have to be something that I’ll enjoy enough to forget that I’m exercising. Seeing as I have a love for two-wheeled things and Cape Town is covered in mountains, I thought I might as well take a stab at mountain biking.
A year and lots of cash later, I’m still mountain biking and run a quaint little WhatsApp group of like-minded cyclists who come together over weekends to see how hard we can fall without breaking something.
